High School Students
Time: 9:00-12:15
High School Students (13-17)
After Morning Assembly High School students will have the opportunity to work on studying their core subjects with their peers. They may study for CLEP tests, read, write, work on projects, and more all while fostering friendships and community. At the beginning of class students will fill out and submit a goal sheet to the parent facilitator and then get to work! Students can bring their computers, books, use the whiteboard and team up with their peers to accomplish their personal goals. The parent facilitator will be available for questions or to assist students if needs arise. At the end of the morning, students will be given back their goal sheet to make notes on their progress and re-submit those to the parent facilitator.
The purpose of Core Study is to build a sense of independence and ownership in the student's perspective on their education. All education is self-education, and while learning from a great teacher is fun, having the capacity to learn on one's own is invaluable. As a parent, the Core Study goal sheets will help give you insight into how your student is growing and where you can continue to team together in developing good character and habits.
